Tutoring at Brainy Academy of New York in Park Slope and Sheepshead Bay

If you are interested in getting tutoring for your child there are many questions you may be asking yourself.  Should I have a private tutor come to the house? Where can I find a private tutor? Should I sign up for a program such as Kumon, Sylvan or Huntington learning center? Do I really want to commit to a long term tutoring contract? Will my child benefit from tutoring? What is the best way to ensure my child is getting the highest quality tutoring in Brooklyn?

In New York City we are lucky to have many tutoring options, and one of the best ones is offered by Brainy Academy, a tutoring and enrichment center in Park Slope and Sheepshead Bay. If you live in Park Slope or Sheepshead Bay and are looking for a high quality tutor, this might be your best option. Why is Brainy Academy tutoring better than their competitors? Unlike Sylvan, Kumon and Huntington Brainy Academy of New York does not use a one fits all approach. There are no boring workbooks to complete and tutors do not need to follow a pre-written curriculum. Most of Brainy Academy of New York tutors are certified public school teachers, which means they can create a tutoring curriculum fitted specifically to your child’s needs. This ensures that you get high quality tutoring available in New York City.

The other advantage of attending Brainy Academy is that all tutoring sessions are one on one so your child does not have to split teacher’s attention. Additionally, since the tutoring sessions are one on one you can be sure that your student is being taught to his or her level, instead of the level of the other students in the group. By attending private tutoring sessions in Brooklyn’s Brainy Academy your child can work in a clean, organized classroom away from distractions of home.

Brainy Academy of New York provides tutoring for children from 1st through 6th grades, in both math and English. Brainy Academy in Brooklyn is experts in ELA prep and their services result in higher scores for many Brooklyn students. In addition to private tutoring in both Math and English, elementary school students can also sign up for ELA and Math group prep classes, available in both Sheepshead bay and Park Slope. ELA and math prep classes are taught by certified public school teachers and follow the common core standards. The group test prep classes are a fun, engaging way to help prepare your 3rd grader, 4th grader or 5th grader for the task of taking the common core exams.

ELA and math prep classes at Brainy Academy run in both Park Slope and Sheepshead Bay locations starting in October of every year and through March or April, whenever students take the test.  We recommend starting ELA testing preparation classes in October, as soon as they start.  We do not recommend starting ELA classes in January or February since at this point your student is likely to be playing catch up.  At Brainy Academy we believe it's important to start preparing early, this way by the time the ELA common core test comes your child will feel confident and ready to go.  It is very hard for those students who wait to prepare for the common core test until the last minute.

If you did wait until later in the year to prepare for the ELA or math common core test we would recommend both private (one on one tutoring) with one of our certified public school teachers as well as small group tutoring geared specifically to the test. The ELA common core classes run on Saturdays and Sundays, and private one on one tutoring at Brainy Academy can be arranged for a weeknight.

Whatever you decide we wish you and your student good luck on your educational journey!
